Meet Kathie, Growth & Marketing Intern at Croissant

I'm an incoming sophomore at New York University studying Statistics and Marketing. Having grown up so close to NYC in New Jersey, I have always loved the city and being able to study and work here is amazing, but I'm also excited for my semester abroad in London!

At Croissant, I am a Growth & Marketing intern, where I manage our ambassador program and work with our social media.

What does success mean to you?

To me, success in life means happiness - happy with where you are in life, happy with where you are going, and happy with the goals that you pursue. In the beginning of my first year at college, I was very unsure of what I wanted to study - and I largely still am. But, I believe that exactly what I'm doing after college is less important than whether I am truly passionate about what I'm doing and where I am, and that's where I hope to see myself after I graduate. However, I have always been drawn to the entertainment and technology industries, as well, so I hope I can fit those into my future.

How do you keep yourself motivated?

I get very anxious when I don't finish something, so constantly place reminders about completing a project where I always see them, which forces me to continue and stops me from getting distracted. Writing everything down is also necessary for me because I'm very forgetful, so the reminder app on my phone and the Momentum extension for Chrome really help me stay on task.

What is your favorite part about living in NYC?

I love that in NYC, there's something new at every turn - you don't have to go very far to do anything. I especially enjoy my proximity to amazing restaurants wherever I happen to be in the city!

Any little-known restaurants that you'd highly recommend?

I don't think it's "little-known," but I love wagamama next to Madison Square Park! I could eat their ramen every day. Miss Paradis in Soho is also a great place to get brunch!

What are your favorite Croissant spaces to work from?

I love Bar Works in West Village because it's close to NYU and I can really concentrate and get work done there. I also enjoy working at Fueled Collective! It's a big space with a lively community that just seems to motivate me. (The candy and popcorn are added bonuses.)

Bar Works West Village has tons of great sunlight!
