Lou Stokes is a style and confidence coach based in Madrid and Jane-of-all trades. We really loved speaking with her and her passion for helping women own their own path and helping others find work they love.

Hi Lou! Tell us a little about yourself.

I am a Style & Confidence Coach, entrepreneur, published author, and a certified yoga and meditation instructor. I help women to fall in love with themselves from the inside out, exude self confidence, and transform their mindset and wardrobe to become the magnetic woman they were born to be.

I believe that every single woman on this planet is capable of success and worthy of a life she loves, but we have to do the inner work first.

When I’m not styling clients, talking confidence and self love, or hosting a retreat, you can find me awaiting my next journey at an airport, or spending some downtime on my yoga mat.

What do you focus on day by day as an entrepreneur?

It really depends on the day and week. I have certain days when I do certains things for example content creation on Mondays, Clients on specific days if possible, admin on certain days.  I am a planner and I think it is important as entrepreneurs to schedule your week, otherwise things don’t get done and you end up feeling very chaotic which leads to being overwhelmed and stressed.  I have a strong and solid morning practise which grounds me and sets the tone for the day, without this I would be a mess.

Self care is vital for us all, but especially for entrepreneurs as our lives tend to be less structured than others, having a morning routine is a non-negotiable for me.

What inspired you to start your online community?

I was inspired to start my community as I wanted to create a sacred space for women to share their journey’s. After years of battling with an eating disorder at times I felt extremely alone and felt I had no one to turn too, I longed for connection and craved  belonging and community. My mission is that others have a safe space to express and share their journey and so Self Love Sisterhood was born. Another reason was for me to be able to connect and serve more women all over the world. I truly believe alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.

What is the most challenging part of running an online community?

Being consistent and creating engaging valuable content, it is important to me that my community feel they are getting value, feel inspired and valued, seen and heard. Also patience, things don’t just happen overnight, people need to get to know you and trust you, this takes time

What are some habits that help you to be successful as an entrepreneur?

Planning; weekly, every quarter and yearly,  having a supportive community with like-minded people,  a powerful morning routine including meditation and journaling. Taking time out and knowing when to stop, as entrepreneurs we tend to be constantly on the go and working, time out is vital to our wellbeing and our businesses

What is your favorite thing about coworking spaces? When choosing a coworking space, what do you look for?

My favourite thing about coworking spaces is meeting new people and being part of a community. It is important that it has natural light, plants and a space to rest away from the computer!  I prefer a minimal workspace without too much clutter around. Also it needs to be relatively close to home as otherwise I know I won’t go.
